I cannot count the number of times God has proven himself faithful in my life. In every breath, he has been found entirely faithful.
I cannot measure the overwhelming encouragement, direction and power that come from spending set apart time in prayer with God and reading his written Word.
And yet, the enemy who will stop at nothing to destroy me relentlessly tries to convince me that God is not faithful. The enemy unleashes his servants to distract me and attack me with everything they’ve got in hopes that I will no longer make time to read God’s very own Word of life. At every turn, there is a temptation to disregard what I know to be true, and to build my beliefs on the faulty foundation of my feelings rather than the solid foundation of the rock that is higher than I: Jesus Christ, the living God.
It is always easier for me to give in to the lies and temptations of the enemy. But each one of his lies and temptations ends in my destruction, and the destruction of others. The enemy will stop at nothing to keep me silent. He will unleash whatever resources necessary to keep me from shining the light of salvation for the whole world to see.
Today I am claiming the victory I have already won in Jesus. The enemy has no power over me. Death has no hold on me. Fear is not my master. I am forever free in the name of Jesus. God has chosen me and adopted me as his very own daughter. No one and nothing will ever be able to separate me from his love. And no one and nothing will ever keep me from wanting the whole world to know his overwhelming love.
I pray if you know Jesus as your Savior, you will claim your victory with me today. I pray you will join me in this fight for faith. We cannot sit back and merely enjoy our salvation in the secret. Freedom in the name of Jesus is a banner we were made to carry all the days of our life. This world is perishing all around us, never knowing the hope we have hidden in our hearts.
Friends, Jesus said himself in Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Let your light shine! I pray I will let my light shine before others no matter what it costs. That’s a terrifying prayer, but it’s worth it. No fear the enemy tries to paralyze me with can convince me that there is anything more important than letting the world know the hope that can only be found in Jesus.
People are dying without ever hearing the truth that Jesus loves them so much he died in their place so they can freely know and follow the living God.
We all know Christ because someone took the time to tell us about his love. Shouldn’t we do the same? I don’t believe anyone who is found in Christ is excluded from his call to let our light shine so others may praise our Heavenly Father.
If you are reading this and you don’t yet call God your Father, I pray he will use this cry of my heart to open your eyes to see his unending love for you. I pray he will enable you to respond to his offering of life and love – his invitation to come and follow him – by simply saying, “Yes!” I pray you will believe in Jesus and entrust your life into his hands from this day forward.
“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” –Romans 8:37
