All Ways or Always

All ways lead to heaven. It doesn’t matter what you believe, if you just have faith. I’m a good person and I try to do good things to help people.

“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’” –John 14:6

Jesus said he is the way. Apart from him, there is no way. We are lost and cannot find our way apart from Christ. Jesus is the only way. If we say all ways lead to heaven, we are calling Jesus a liar, which would mean his way doesn’t lead to heaven, and therefore, all ways no longer lead to heaven.

Jesus said he is the truth. Apart from him, there is no truth. If we place our faith in anything outside of Christ, we are believing a lie. Faith in a lie won’t save us, it will destroy us. Faith in Jesus, the truth, sets us free.

Jesus said he is the life. Apart from him, we are dead in our wickedness. It doesn’t matter how much good I try to do for others, I’m still dead in my selfishness unless I know Jesus, the life. If the standard is perfection, which it should be or else God would not be God, then none of us can honestly say we’ve achieved it. None of us can say we are entirely good. Only Jesus lived an entirely good life. He earned God’s favor for us because we cannot. Jesus is the life, and only in him can we be brought to life.

Jesus said no one, not one person, can come to know the Father (God) except through him (Jesus). This idea that all ways lead to heaven may sound pleasant, but at its core, this popular message will be the death of us. All ways cannot and do not lead to heaven, but the way of Jesus Christ will always lead to heaven.

Do you see what Jesus has done for us?

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. ‘There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.” –John 3:16-19

Let us not be people who love the darkness more than the light. We may think we’re not offending anyone by silently agreeing with this message that all ways lead to heaven, but in reality, we are offending God himself.

If you know the Father through his Son, I pray you stand up and speak out the only way to peace.

If you don’t yet know the Son, and therefore do not yet know the Father, I pray you see how greatly he has demonstrated his love for you. I pray your whole heart longs to respond to his great love with faith in his name alone.

“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’” –John 14:6

So, come on!
